This week, we welcome, Retired Lt. Chaplin Teri King as she unpacks her story as a transgender women, with a message for Teens to respect everyone’s journey and the importance of self love.

Erica Salda 0:00 Good morning out of our team sports listeners, I'm your host, Erica, the queen of team please tune in. 9am welcome team sports radio listeners, locally, nationally, internationally. So proud, so happy for the great success that we've had over the last 15 years. We have a whopper show today. It is still we're still in the middle of Pride Month. We like to recognize that. We like to recognize our veterans. Christine Marie is in the house with Barbara dew. We got Dominique Hackett and myself. Don Sanders is with us as well. We have a great guest. Barbara will tell us about the guest and what else is going on with the county, with the wellness Christine Marie, what else are we supposed to be recognizing for the month of June?

Kristine Haugh 0:48 It is post traumatic stress month, actually. And celebrate, not celebration, but in honor of those who have, who have experienced post or who are experiencing post traumatic stress. So it's bringing attention to that. I think you already said Juneteenth and also pride month. So those are the three biggies that are happening right now. Yeah,

Erica Salda 1:10 yes, schools out right now. We honor all our teens. We wish them and put white lights around them to stay safe and keep busy all those graduates, exactly, all those ready to transfer out, many out of the city, many, some out of the state. We wish all of our teen athletes, all our athletes, really, all of our teens as a whole, the very, very, very, very best. So let's do this like I said, we have a whopper of a show. We'll start off with Barbara. What you brought in a guest today. So much don't do the big reveal. Okay? No,

Dominique Hackett 1:50 no, no, no, I sure did. But yes, my beautiful friend Terry is here today, and I'm so glad that you accepted our invitation. Terry is a very good friend. She's one of those friend that I call without hesitation when things are hard, and she's always like so compassionate and and I'm so glad that you're you're here today, and I can't wait to hear more of your story and that you share it with the world. So thank you

Erica Salda 2:20 very nice. Dominique, what are you going to do for us today?

Dominique Hackett 2:22 Well, Alex couldn't make it. Life happens, so I'm going to take the topic that he talked about and what's

Erica Salda 2:29 going to be the topic self fitness. Yep, is there a title to it or no? Fitness as a life skill. I like that. I like that. I could tell you this. I mean, I know getting my kids involved with the trainer and having them do the whole fitness rigor as kids started them really young, 810, years old. I mean, they're in their 30s now, and they work out every day. And it's something that when you start that habit, it's an amazing when you put your body and you count your body as a temple, and you're watching the food that you eat, and you're watching the things that your body needs, super, super important. Those are one of those things. I mean, give myself five stars for that. Then we got Don Sanders. Today, we got Don Sanders is going to be doing a hookah. What's the hookah about today? Don it's

Don 3:19 about the importance of connection.

Erica Salda 3:23 Oh, I like

Kristine Haugh 3:25 it beautiful.

Erica Salda 3:27 And we also have Christine Marie, all things connected, okay, the universe. That's our spiritual consultant. Christine Woody, do you have anything you want to talk

Kristine Haugh 3:37 about, you know? Um, well, you know, actually, the main thing is that we're coming up on the solstice, which is, I would say, is it the big out breath? It's the big out breath that talk about connection, at least on the northern hemisphere here, it's where this, it's the longest day of the year. It is that time to get out in the sunshine and connect and and really, you know, you know, socialize here in Santa Barbara, is we have a parade, and we have a lot of fun things going on, and so it's that time of the year versus, you know, the so we're the summer solstice versus the winter solstice, which is the big in breath, where we all go inside. Yeah? So this is expanded time. Yeah.

Erica Salda 4:14 Nice. All right. Let's recognize our local leaders, businesses, nonprofits. Barbara, you're up next right after this. Messages, we are back, and this is Santa Barbara, teen Sports Radio Show. I am your host, Erica, the queen of teen. Please tune in. 9am
